Presbytery

The Presbytery Newsletters have links and access to many other “Resources”.

For example, other Congregations who are live-streaming, and live-streaming Eucharist Services.  Although, my own Minister’s discernment is that I will not offer “on-line Eucharist services”, and Church Council affirmation, this does not prevent you from joining another Minister/Congregation offering online Communion, if you wish to.

By all means, in your isolation you may feel the need to partake Communion via tuning into another Uniting Church Congregation’s worship services offered by the Minister.  Please feel free to do so if that is helpful for you and your household in this lockdown situation.

Some Ministers and their Church Councils discerned to doing this.  Others, like ourselves at St Stephens in conversation with myself, discerned to ‘fast rather than feast’.

As Minister and since the start of COVID-19 restrictions, I was already discerning what this means for worship, Eucharist, preaching and pastoral care, online meetings etc., and my discernment regarding Eucharist is to look forward to ‘feasting’ with the Body of Christ that is my people of St Stephens, once we are able to in the future.

Thank You to the Resurrected Body of Christ

Finally, many of you will have, or are learning through other sources in the Uniting Church, of the recent passing of my dear Mother on Easter Resurrection Sunday.  On behalf of my family and extended family in NZ and in diaspora, please accept our heartfelt thanks for your loving and prayerful support that upholds us and continues to be a welcoming comfort in the ebbs and flows of grief yet deep deep joy in our resurrection belief of Easter Sunday!

Go well… reach out to someone you have not telephoned…  and, be safe… in God!

In fellowship and peace,

  Juliette
